Meet Alicia Rose, a 2015/16 CivicAction DiverseCity Fellow and the Associate Vice President of Social Impact at TD Bank Group. She is passionate about community development and has a deep understanding of the social and economic challenges facing communities in need. Her strategic and data-driven approach to her work helps her identify areas of need and develop programs that make a meaningful impact.

Alicia is devoted to finding inventive solutions to challenging issues. She is an advocate for diversity and ensures different points of view are heard in order to create lasting change.

Alicia believes that representation matters and that true allyship is important. CivicAction provided her with the tools, knowledge, and mentorship to develop the skills she needed to be a successful leader. Through the DiversCity Fellows program, she connected with like-minded leaders from different backgrounds and learned from their experiences. She also accessed resources and support to help her understand the complexities of leading in different settings.

This experience was a game-changer for her career and empowered her to think about her future in a different way. It connected her to real opportunities that led to her first role in the corporate sector.

Alicia believes that we’re all city builders and that every resident of this region is responsible for creating better and more inclusive spaces for everyone.

Alicia has a deep understanding of the challenges facing her community and created initiatives to address them. She supported programs to help people access education and training, improve their financial literacy, and find affordable housing. She has worked with local organizations to develop mentorship programs and job training opportunities for those with barriers to access.

Alicia brands herself as an INtrapreneur, fueled by her lifelong enthusiasm for making a positive social impact. She has devoted her time to volunteering with various organizations, such as JAYU, Soulpepper Theatre Company and School for Social Entrepreneurs Ontario.

She has a background in community development and has spent her career advocating for equity-deserving communities. She is a leader in the field of community investment and has been instrumental in helping TD Bank create innovative solutions to difficult social justice issues.

At TD Bank, Alicia is responsible for the development and implementation of social impact initiatives, and ensures the bank’s investments, policies, programs, and partnerships are aligned with their vision and values. She is committed to tackling global issues, such as poverty, inequality, and sustainability, through the development of innovative and sustainable solutions.

Alicia strongly believes in the power of collaboration between public, private, and non-profit sectors for driving positive change in society. By working together, organizations are able to innovate, develop strong relationships and trust, and create sustainable solutions. This type of cross-sectoral collaboration is especially critical in tackling social and environmental issues, as it allows for a comprehensive approach that can bring about long-term, meaningful results.

Alicia is an active mentor, coach and proud member of the DiverseCity Fellows Alumni. Through her work and her commitment to civic engagement, Alicia helps create a stronger, more inclusive, and more equitable future for all.
