“Like so many aspects of city building, as people work on projects outside their normal spheres of activity, they get connected to new people and sectors in the city, and the power and value of everything gets multiplied many times over.”
From Insight to Impact
Convener
We create neutral, trusted spaces to bring cross-sector leaders together listen, learn, and align around practical solutions.
Influencer
We leverage networks and relationships to set action and innovation in motion by advocating both publicly and behind the scenes.
Synthesizer
We connect people, data, and lived experience to focus on what works and where we can act together.
Accelerator
We turn momentum into action through programs and leadership initiatives that grow civic-minded capacity and deliver systemic impact.
CivicAction began as the Toronto City Summit Alliance, founded by civic leader David Pecaut after a 2002 summit of business and community leaders. In 2010, the Alliance became CivicAction, growing into a region-wide platform for enabling and fostering inclusive civic leadership.
