Annie Ewing is transforming tourism in Toronto with a focus on sustainability and equity. As the Destination Development Manager at Destination Toronto, she leads the company’s sustainability initiatives, including the Global Destination Sustainability Index, and manages a CSR program that offers caregivers a chance to recharge through unique tourism experiences. She’s also steering a city-wide strategic planning process for tourism growth. A former independent travel advisor, Annie co-founded PropelTO, a networking group for industry peers, and Let’s Get Uncomfortable, a speaker series addressing systemic inequities in the travel industry. Driven by her commitment to equity and diversity, Annie has spent several years mentoring newcomers to Canada, guiding them through the travel and tourism job market. Annie’s love for travelling turned into a thriving career making tourism, and our cities, more inclusive and sustainable.
