Policy Jam

Where leaders take the mic and put their priorities and actions on the record.

Who Policy Jam Participants Are:

  • Leaders, especially emerging leaders, interested in public policy, civic action, and cross-sector action
  • Young professionals in public, private, nonprofit sectors; engaged students, organizers, entrepreneurs, advocates, artists, community builders ...
  • People with lived experiences and practical ideas on issues of regional importance: housing, transit, affordability, work, opportunity, belonging, sustainability, economic development ...
  • Regional residents who want leadership to feel and be more accessible, creative, and connected to real people

Expect: engaging, thought-provoking thinkers. No long speeches and sides. Sharp takes and smart questions and co-created actions on what our region needs – and what every leader across every sector can do.

Your voice goes somewhere real:  synthesized discussions turn into public briefs and civic agendas, shared with leaders across the GTHA, used to drive collaborative action.

August 2026 Edition

CivicAction, in partnership with Voice the Vote, brought the Emerging Leaders Network and other cross-sectoral rising regional leaders together to address their concerns and ideas ahead of the 2026 municipal elections.

Note: Policy Jams are non-partisan events; CivicAction does not endorse particular candidates or parties. These events are for emerging leaders to engage with other leaders and issues to shape the region.

El Mocambo, one of Toronto’s most iconic music venues, is host for our 2026 Policy Jam. It is a suitable place for civic engagement: energetic, informal, culture-rooted, and built for voice.
